MAD DOG MADNESS
Thursday 30 August, 2007
MANAGERIAL madness is alive and kicking at Leicester City, where chairman Milan Mandaric has sacked Martin Allen . . . after just three league games!
Trigger-happy Mandaric, who has now dismissed three managers at Leicester in the last four months, claimed that he shares a different vision of the club's future compared to former Hammer 'Mad Dog', who he recruited from MK Dons at the end of last season.
Presumably that 'vision' does not encompass stability.
Mandaric once fired Harry Redknapp when he was in charge at Portsmouth, but reinstated the former Hammers boss. A group of Leicester fans have started a petition calling for him to reinstate Allen, but it is unlikely to happen.
Allen denied earlier this week that there was a rift between him and Mandaric but the chairman clearly wasn't satisfied and he announced on Wednesday (Aug 29) that Allen had left the club by 'mutual consent'.
