IT is with deep sadness and regret that we report the death yesterday of Mrs Pat Lampard – wife of former Hammers legend Frank and mother of ex-Hammer and Chelsea star Frank junior, who are both devastated by the tragedy.

Pat, 58, had spent the previous nine days battling against pneumonia after suddenly being admitted to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, North-East London. Earlier in the week her condition stabilised and there appeared to be new hope that she would pull through the illness, but she passed away on Wednesday afternoon.

Our sincere condolences go to all of Pat’s family and friends, especially the two Franks and her daughters, Natalie and Claire.

Thoughts also go to Pat’s identical twin sister, Sandra, the wife of former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp and mum to Jamie and Mark Redknapp.
